Amy Ledford
Tumbling Director
I began taking tumbling when I was 10 years old right here in Inman at a place called Emily’s and Mary Lee’s School of Dance. Then after one year there, I was hooked! So after one year there for the summer I joined the YMCA summer gymnastics camp and after that summer, I tried out for the Greenville World of Gymnastics team. I competed with this team beginning with level 4 and continued through level 7 for about the next 3 years. At the age of 14, i decided that I would become a cheerleader for my school. So at that time, I left the competitive scene and just took a once a week class. At the age of 14, my mom opened a dance and tumbling school here in Boiling Springs and I competed locally on both dance and gymnastics teams. I held many national, state, and local titles. I gave up cheerleading for my school and started assistant teaching with tumbling and dance classes. At 16 I was teaching my own classes at various studios and gyms in the Upstate. I also coached USC-S cheerleaders for 5 years and SMC cheerleaders and dance team for 5 years. At this point, I decided to venture out on my own and I opened All Sports Gymnastics, which I owned and operated for 5 years. And now I have the complete pleasure of teaching here at StarMakers. And I thank God everyday for the journey I have been on and all of the obstacles that I have gone through to get here and I look forward to what is in store for me next.
